I open my heart to share a little bit about my life experience and where the idea of El Grito del planeta (Earth) comes from.
It is called El Grito del planeta, but I actually wanted it to be called El Grito del planeta Tierra; it was just a name that was too long to be the name of a business - now I understand the frustration of those parents who wanted to give their children three names and were not allowed to at the registration office -
That’s why I wanted the logo to feature the Earth, because it is the protagonist of this project.
Now let me tell you about myself, my name is Carolina I was born nearly four decades ago in chaotic and brave Bogotá (I say brave because it takes a lot of courage to support almost 9 million people at an altitude of 2,600 meters ⛰️⛅).
I was lucky to be born into a loving and caring family, to attend university and study what I liked, as well as to experience different cultures by living in various places around the world such as the United States, Costa Rica, Sweden, and since 2021, Spain. I graduated in Graphic Design and Advertising, obtained a diploma in Consumer Psychology, and a master's degree in Ecological Humanities, Sustainability, and Ecological-Social Transition at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2022).
One of the things I enjoy most in life is seeing how ideas become reality through collaboration and teamwork; perhaps that’s why I dream that one day El Grito will become a creative cooperative that brings together different talents from various cultures and visions to build narratives that allow us to live beautifully and richly.
Regarding my professional experience, I have been in the world of advertising, communication, and digital marketing for 15 years. I have worked with international teams developing social media strategies for well-known brands such as Coca-Cola, Nestlé Purina, Reebok, and Juan Valdez Café.
In 2020, my professional career began its path towards sustainability - yes, I’m the typical person whose life was changed by the pandemic - and that’s when I started learning about ecological humanities and environmental education. Since then, I have been collaborating with different organizations, foundations, and brands that focus on these issues.
I welcome you to El Grito del planeta Tierra, a space where my life and professional experiences, passions, concerns, love for nature, and my desire to help create a more eco-feminist, anti-racist society that inspires us to live more fully come together.
